Palomino has good food, service, and atmosphere. The menu is not what I would call innovative, but the prime rib, fish, and brie were excellent. The caesar salad (no meat) wasn't worth the $8, in my opinion. The pear bread pudding was also pretty good.
I recommend not getting a booth that is perpendicular to the window -- the people near the window will be chilly and won't be able to go to the restroom until the end of dinner unless they want to make every other guest get up.
just awesome - not crazy expensive - not cheap either. my husband and i normally spend around $60 (for two). but we don't drink - so - expect to spend a bit more if you do. however, it is a great place for a special occasion. we have been several times and it is, by far, the best restaurant in indianapolis. i've always been pleased with the service and the quality of food. don't bother ordering an appetizer - they will serve you warm bread with an amazing bruschetta. the salmon is always good. and - if you join the palomino dining club - they will give you an instant coupon good for $20 off - and send you offers for large discounts throughout the year. oh - and the chocolate tiramisu is the best dessert in town. no contest. they also have the best fettuccini alfredo that i've ever tasted - and i've tasted plenty. portion size is good - i normally leave with enough for lunch the next day.
and the ambiance is fantastic. it feels like the meal should cost more - the waitstaff is very attentive. make reservations if you plan to dine on the weekends. also - during the week they offer a "first seating" deal - a 3 course meal for $20 each between 5-6pm. it includes a drink, salad, entree and light dessert. not bad.
can you tell this is my favorite restaurant?!
The first time I stepped into this restaurant I thought...this isn't for the average customer. Why? Because it looked like a businessman's SWAP! The food was good but he portions were SMALL and the price was BIG! 2 people dining in 1 drink 1 dessert OVER $100. I think they should give you more for your money. But, if you have money to just burn...hey THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU...lol

How long is it usually to get in and out if you have a reservation.
