The tenderloin is great as is most food with the exception of the fish. The owners Dean and Tim are great people but for some reason some of their employees seem stressed most of the time. One female bartender(I think Stef) is not good with the public. I asked one of the male bartenders who is usually very nice if he had a second wanting to report someone sick in the mens room. He told me he didn't have a second without even finding out what I wanted. With that exception which seems to be due to some recent stress the employees are under everyone else there is always nice and good to be around; especially Cindy and Lonnie. They seem a bit overworked at times though. I am afraid though like the Varsity there are times some of the customers are overserved, visably drunk, falling down at times and should possibly be cut off due to the fact they can be very unpleasant to be around.
Great place to hang out, eat and be with friends. Good Food!
It's worth the Price, and the time: The Indianapolis Men's Chorus, the GLBT community, and of course, the general public, all go to Downtown Olly's to meet with friends, have dinner, and belt out a few notes in this very laid back, almost a small town atmosphere type of establishment. With the building being very small, the place fills up quickly on Sunday and Wednesday nights for Kareoke, and a couple of other nights during the week as well. The food is great, the drink prices aren't too "pricy", however, again, the size of the establishment only allows for one server, so, service times may not be to the liking of the typical restaurant goer. Overall, I would recomend Olly's for a social gathering, not a business outing.
