It was at that time that the shop owner Romy Reyes decided to break free from working under the name of a large donut chain and made the business into his own. At first, the shop sold only donuts, coffee, and the building was very small (half the size it is now). Today, the business is known as "The Donut Shop Bakery and Restaurant".
