Visited on Jan. 19, 2009 in support of local food pantries (admission was a can of food) ... Even in the dead of winter, it was great to visit the likes of the ocean's, desert's and forests' exhibits, as well as the orchid show inside the conservatory.
I, Cindy, Kimberly and Jeremy have visited the zoo before, and will again .. there's always so much to see and do. :)
We were very impressed by the zoo. Felt it was much better than Louisville's and even a bit better than Cincy. The only thing that could make it better is wider halls in the Oceans building and wider parking spaces.
The Indianapolis Zoo and White River Gardens are one of my favorite places in the city. They now offer a combined ticket only, one price for both the zoo and gardens. I recommend becoming a member. The zoo is well laid-out with all kinds of critters to view. The dolphin show is very good (we really like the underwater walkway, too). We love going to the gardens for ideas for our own home and just to be surrounded by quiet beauty.
