Chicagos Restaurant & Lounge

We were sorry to hear that this restaurant had been sold and would be reopened by the new owner as an Italian restaurant. From our two visits, we thought it was an excellent place to get a quality steak. We had hoped to sample other entrees in future visits in order to post a more informed review. Sadly, we will not have that chance.

All you can eat crab legs are $44 per person! The menu says Alaskan King crab legs - but what you really get is snow crab. Three years ago we did get Alaskan king crab but never since. The snow crab are good - but the price - I think we will eat elsewhere. Since we only do this once a year. Would like to hear if it really is worth the price. Yes, they are not cheap - but we have had another local restaurant that serves crab(all u can eat) and the were tiny and " green inside" - so that was it for that place. I rate Chicago Good- but the above price gives it a poor if you have a large group going- the bill could be well over $500! plus gratuity.

Went there so I can order a couple of hot chocolates to go and so my daughter could use the restroom. I took my daughter to see Johnny Depp who was filming on the next block. As we entered, we were ignored by the waiter who was about 7 feet from us telling a Johnny Depp sighting story to a table. After 2 minutes, and two looks from the waiter, we left and went through the bar door.
Two more minutes later, we overheard the same waiter say, "Oh, I guess they left." He then saw us at the bar and greeted us finally. I tell him my daughter needs to use the restroom and that I would like two hot chocolates to go. After getting the warm, watered down, instant hot chocolates, he tells me it would be $5. I offer my debit/credit mastercard and he tells me I can't pay with that and questions me if I have real money?! I tell him no, and he replies that it costs the restaurant more money to ring up the charge. After I tell him that's all I got. He makes an ugly face, takes my card, and continues to complain as he rings me up! He even says, "What is this world coming too?"

Needless to say I only went there so my daughter could use the restroom, but didn't want her to use it without purchasing something. During this time a few people walked in,used the restroom, and left. My daughter who is twelve couldn't believe how rude he was. I was actually planning to take my whole family for someplace to eat while there or in the future. Hope the owner knows what kind of impression his staff are setting! Terrible!
