I used to work there years ago and the bathrooms were gross. I always hoped that they would hire a cleaning company or a maintenance person to upkeep the place. The customers trash it and I did not want to touch it with a 50 foot pole. I tried to keep it clean but again people just love trashing the can over there. When I worked there, service was better but now since it was renovated, it changed. there used to be people at the info desk and now there seems to be no one. I know I used to work like 9 to 10 hour days and it was LONG. They cant have every book in print and people act like they should. I wish the CD prices were better. They need more tables and chairs at the cafe area. I have seen people literally fight over a table. not cool. It is still a cool hangout. i eat and drink once in a while at my own risk. Every eatery is a crap shoot and risky.
Good place to buy books. But employees are lazy. I've been in there a few times and the employees are extremely rude over the intercom telling you to leave the store around closing time! Bathrooms are filthy with no soap, writing on the walls.
Not a great selection: Not much of a selection of books. It used to be better a few years ago when they used to have more books. I only used to buy CD's there. Now I shop at the Borders in Merrillville which is better. One good thing I can say about the place is that the area there, the Highland Grove Mall, is a great place to feed the gulls. You've gotta come and try it. You'll love it.
