User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsOl' Skool Spot: The Zanzibar Lounge is a local spot in Gary, Indiana. Known for its 'ol skool' feel, it has a cast of regulars to rival "Cheers". The drinks are poured 'free hand' and the prices are really great. A shot (average 1&3/4) runs $4. MGD is a $1 everyday and Imports are $3, everyday. The jukebox plays the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Temptations, Chi-Lites, Marvin Gaye, etc. No food is served but there's a nice Mexican spot across the street. Average age is 40+ so it's virtually drama free. If you like 'juke joints' this is a place for you. No real dance floor, but patrons get their 'step' on in the middle of the bar area. Cool place to chill.
