You've got to be kidding me? Anybody who wrote a positive review of this place wrote if for one of three reasons.... 1) You work there, own the place, or your friend works there. 2) You've never had a good coffee made by a real barista. 3) Perhaps you got lucky and somebody happened to dish up a good drink the day you walked in.
Okay - sarcasm aside, I'm all about supporting small business. But these high school girls are not passionate about the job or more importantly, the coffee. I have given them several chances and each time I find myself instructing them on how to simply pull a shot of espresso.
Understanding that the local mid-western culture does not demand quality espresso drinks because it's not part of everyday life around here, I have resorted to avoiding "the Bean" and brewing my own coffee at work. It's been better on the wallet, but makes me sad because walking up town to the community coffee house is usually a special treat. One I will just have to surrender until the owner brings in some quality help.
i luv local businesses so i'm sorry bean, but the drinks (other than coffee) are barely acceptable and most the food i've tried has that prepackaged-store-bought taste to it. i don't know anyone who goes out of their way to go there but i've heard good things about thier coffee.
service is always good and friendly.
i'm gonna keep goin' whenever someone else wants to till i can give a better report cuz as i said, i luv local businesses!!
Pretty coffee shop in the Wells County Public Library. Free wireless. Cozy fireplace in the winter. Employees are great. They do not have entertainment or special nights.
The soup and sandwiches are good, but the choices are very limited. They no longer have salads. Desserts are disappointing (store bought). Muffins are fine. It's all okay, but wish they were more creative with the food.
The drinks are frustratingly inconsistant: each employee seems to make things differently, so one day my latte is great and the next it's too weak. Aren't there recipes?
Over all, it's okay. I'll stop if I'm at the library, but won't make a special trip. I'd rather go to the Brew Ha in Ossian.
