While I don't disagree with the earlier reviews, there are a couple of items that deserve special comment. First, the corned beef in my Reuben was sliced thick, and was quite chewy. I don't recommend it at all. Second, the stir fry dishes bear no resemblence to any Oriental dish I've ever tasted (and I've lived in the Far East). The sauce, which should be a soy blend, with perhaps some hot peppers, is an unidentifiable, definitely non-Oriental, dark brown sugary mixture. Good for children, I suppose, but not what most people expect when they order a stir fry dish.
On the other hand, the servings there are huge. I particularly liked the quesadillas.
Hearty breakfast: I enjoy the various omelets with choice of either toast or pancakes.Good coffee. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is sunny and open.I recommend this place for good eats!!!
Good Food, Great Value: At first, I thought this was an Italian restaurant, but I was proven wrong when I saw the burgers and fries, Mexican food, seafood and classic American dishes on the menu.
My party and I were seated very quickly and our drinks were brought to us immediately. After placing our orders, we expected a relatively long wait (there were six of us). To our surprise, or orders were brought out very quickly.
The food was nice and hot and we all had really big portions (my chicken parmesian dish was enough to feed three to four people...with four pieces of homemade garlic toast).
Dessert was a treat too, as I had peppermint ice cream for the first time. I will be looking for that in the stores.
The prices are great. You get a lot of food for your money.
So if you and your special someone needs a place to enjoy a good evening, or want to hang with your friends, head over to Renaissance Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
