User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is the only place we'll eat Chinese in Columbus. The food is excellent--no matter what you order. And the portions are huge. My wife and I usually split an entree and order egg rolls and/or soup to make a filling meal. Ditto regarding "tricky dicky's" comments about Victor, the manager. He's become a family friend.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsChina Gate says it all!: Mark Pi's China Gate is a name that leads you into a wonderful dining experience. It is like you actually have walked through a gate and into the land of China. Victor ( the owner ) is about the most friendly person you would ever wish to meet. When he is on the premises ( which seems to be always ) he recognizes you and extends a friendly handshake and welcome. The atmosphere is remarkable with muted lighting and vibrants colors that surround you and draw you in deeper. There is always background music playing that puts you in the mood for your dining pleasure. The staff are fantastic and very friendly and helpful. Last, but certainly not least, the food is superb. I wasn't a fan of Chinese until I walked into this restaurant a few years ago. Now I feel I know the staff almost like an extended family. The waitresses hurry to my table and almost seem to know what I am going to order. Even after placing an order, they are always coming back to check on you and make sure everything is perfect. The Scallop Rumaki is excellent as is the Mongolian Beef. I have yet to find an entree that isn't exquisite. If you are looking for a romantic place for dining or just a friendly atmosphere for everyday luncheons this is the place. Sunday morning is the buffett I hear although that is one thing I have yet to sample ( although it has to be great ).
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is the best CHinese Restaurant around.: This is Mine and Katrina's favorite chinese restaurant around. It has the best food with the best atmosphere. You can have a nice family dinner or that special romantic dinner. Then you get to walk the mall and enhoy the sights.
