These people are unbelievable! We called a day ahead and asked to drop off our vehicle to have it analyzed for a trade in.Aaron was to take care of it.We dropped it off and then proceeded to a funeral in Indiana. When we stopped on our way back,no one knew where Aaron was, nor could they find him, nor had our car been touched. We then talked to sarg.He had no information but was going to take care of it. When we explained the televised commercial that we had come to utilize, Sarg apparently had no knowledge of it. He had to look it up. We left the information concerning what our requirements were and was told he would call us. No word. Two days later we get an email asking if we were satisfied with what had happened there. Of course, we weren't. We emailed back and stated such and reminded Sarge what had happened to us. Next email from Sarg-"I understand". We reply-"are you going to send us any information on an available car." The next day, we are asked to refresh his memory. He cannot even recall what we asked him to find!!! Run from Richmond Toyota as fast as you can and go to someone who knows what they are doing. They are a waste of time and energy
I haven't purchased a vehicle from the dealership but I have had my Toyota vehicle serviced here. I went in to have a brake light bulb replaced. Apparently they didn't know how to take the cover off because they broke it, glued it back together, and said nothing. I only found this out because the bulb kept burning out (a common problem if their are cracks in the cover). I took it into another service shop and before they worked on it they showed me where it had been broken and that it had been glued back together. My family has had similar experiences with this dealership and needless to say none of us will ever be back. This dealership is a black spot on Toyota's reputation. Drive to Dayton or Cincinnati and save yourself the hassle or added repair costs. Also, a word about their sales department. I can tell this is a "high-pressure" sales environment because everytime I took my vehicle to be worked on in the service department the sales staff ran up to my vehicle as soon as I pulled in the parking lot.
I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership in September 2007. Service was good, however once I left the dealership with my vehicle I had problems. First, 10 days before my tags expire they decide to tell me that I need to get an out of state vehicle inspection. Lucky for me, I got it done immediately, forwarded the paperwork to the dealership, and then called them every other day until they sent me my title! I finally received it the day my 30 day tag expired. Secondly, when I got home from making my purchase, I noticed that there was an additional $300 charge added to my price. After calling the dealership several times and talking to several people, they finally decide to tell me that the $300 was for a theft warranty (# etched on the window). I demanded that the warranty be removed and my money refunded. They stated that it would be removed and my money returned. As of the writing of this review, it has now been 60 days and I still have not received my refund. The dealership even called me to say that they were cutting a check and sticking it in the mail that day! That call was over a week ago! I must say that my overall experience with this dealership has been a poor one. I wish I would have read others reviews before making a trip out of state to purchase a vehicle. I would not recommend this dealership to others.

All problems concerning title work and expired tags ultimately fall on the shoulders of the purchaser. You are given the paperwork at the time of purchase and are to follow those instructions. You go 2 miles down the road from the dealership to have the inspection done, return the paperwork to the dealership and they do the rest for you. If you follow instructions and not wait until the last minute you will have your title within a week. That is what I did and I had no problems. Furthermore there is no such thing offered as theft warranty, they have an extended warranty to purchase which is now only offered through Toyota so no outside companies are involved and the warranty is good to use with any Automotive dealer. I found my experiences with Richmond Toyota outstanding since the new ownership has taken over in August. I noticed the only time people complain is when they fail to follow instructions and look to blame everyone but themselves.
I will completely disagree. I have worked in the car business, both as a car salesman, and an Internet Sales Manager, so I know the business intimately. First, as to the title, the dealership has to process the title paperwork, there is nothing, I repeat, nothing, the consumer can do to speed it along. So, if the administrative people at the dealership make an error, then, there will be a delay. Now, if you do need to do something, doing it right away will prevent any delays. As to the theft warranty, it has been around for a long time. It isn't something that is offered through Toyota. It is a third party warranty that helps to track your car if it is stolen. The windows are acid etched with a tracking number and a telephone number. The finance manager gets paid a commission for every one he sells.
