We have purchased puppies, pet food, and supplies for many years. Karen and Leslie back up their service with experience and good advice.
yes they sell puppies...and kittens and fish...Karen and Leslie are two of the nicest caring ladies around when it comes to pets....And you may not know this but they take mixed breed puppies in and nurse them back to health and feed them for weeks , get them vet attention and yes they sell them....Do you think that the local humane society doesnt sell puppies and kittens?....Wrongo reindeer....I give them 2 thumbs up...
They SELL puppies! There are still hundreds (thousands?) of dogs rescued and euthanized in bloomington every year and here they are offering fresh puppies for sale. I've never heard of this Pet Shop working with any local rescues.I rank them right next too the pet store in the mall selling puppy mill puppies.

I suppose they do the same for the kittens and the fish. You never said where they take the mixed breed puppies from either. Why just puppies? Can't they take full grown mixed breeds and offer them the same generous opportunity or that just not as profitable as selling fish. I have no doubt the staff cares very much about the animals - It's more why the owner pretends to be a rescue while remaining a profiteer and customer of several puppy mills in the midwest.
Also, Pet shop owners do not make a large amount of money. with the overhead, and sparse sales, very few pet shop owners make enough to keep food on the table, more less they either do it because they love animals or because their stupid. I don't think the last exception applies to the owners of Delilahs. Take it from me, I use to own a pet shop. They DON'T make a lot of money. In fact, even Petsmart and PetCo don't make a huge killing... just enough to squeak by , and they rely on a large amount of stores making a small profit to turn a net profit for the company.
