   MoreWe specialize in finding homes for cats and dogs in Lawrence County that come to us without a home. We also attempt to find the rightful owners before adopting them out. If they are sick and/or injured we will make every attempt to care for them to return them to good health. We raise money to run our shelter in a variety of ways including, special fundraisers, the selling of items such as t-shirts, and trash bags, the collection of aluminum cans, and seeking monetary donations through Facebook, collection canisters placed in business throughout the county, memberships, and direct mailings, to name a few. Pet owners can also have their pets cremated through us. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We are continually seeking ways to improve the shelter and the care of the animals therein. White River Humane Society is operated by a Board of Directors. The shelter has two managers and ten to twelve kennel techs. Less
