If it were possible, I would not give any stars to this establishment. VERY RUDE employees. We had selected frozen items not requiring assistance and placed our items on the counter to pay. Not one, but TWO different employees rang up the customers (who were STILL selecting meats from the enclosed cases) behind us in line and never once acknowledged we were there. I left to return to the car but my husband wanted to confront them about the terrible customer service. The first person we spoke to told us to leave and go to a local grocery store when we questioned why they waited on two customers BEHIND us in line. Another employee asked us what the problem was and we relayed our bad experience. She did apologize for the way we were treated. As this is a locally owned business, I would much prefer to patronize them, especially in this economy, but being treated this way will definitely influence our future purchases.

MERKLEY'S GETS THEIR MEAT FROM OVERSEAS!!! THEY DO NOT GET THE MEAT FROM THE US! DEWIG'S IN HAUBSTADT ONLY BUYS FROM THE US FARMERS. I CALLED TO CONFIRM THIS. MERKLEYS TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT BUY FROM CHINA, BUT DO BUY FROM ALL OTHER COUNTRIES. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! WE HAVE BOUGHT FROM MERKLEY'S FOR THE LAST TIME.

The chilli brats are the best, It is worth the wait in line. There bologna is also good. Hands down better than any where else!!!
