I have lived at the UV's for two years and I have had nothing but PROBLEMS!!!!!!! This place is a freaking joke!! Things break all of the time and they put in a "work order" and it takes WEEKS to fix!! The staff in the office is beyond rude and treat you like a baby. After moving into this apartment, I got a bill with charges from the last apartment. I never threw outrageous parties and I cleaned it before I left. They took my whole $500 deposit and i still owed $100!! For a freaking studio its $501 A MONTH -- yeah, its close to campus but that is just freaking ridiculous!! If I could find someplace different, I would definitely move out in a heartbeat!! I HATE IT HERE!! I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!
I would not recommend anyone living here. I had multiple times of maintainance walking in my apartment with no notice. My heater went out in the middle of winter and it took 5 phone calls to finally get someone convinced that there was something wrong with it. When they came to fix it I had no warning and got out of the shower to 2 guys in my apartment. They were messing with my stuff in my apartment turning on my television and other electronics in my apartment. When it came time for me to move out they sent an email saying they would be around to do a final walk through... They ended up doing the walk through after I had moved out... And let me tell you don't expect to get ANY of your deposit back. Not only did they take the whole 350 dollars from the deposit.. they took the 123 dollars from overpaid rent too. They came up with the most random charges just so they wouldn't have to give anything back. They actually charged 25 dollars to remove to unopened cases of pop that were accidently forgotten. Hope they enjoyed drinking them! I never threw any crazy parties so my place wasn't even trashed or had any major damages. So to say that I had 476 dollars of charges is rediculous and what they are doing is probably illegal. I had lived there for 3 years so obviously I was going to have normal wear and tear. They charged 80 dollars just to carpet clean which is something they should have to do before anyone moves into any apartment so to charge the previous tenent is terrible. They said they had left an envelope to leave the keys in... they didn't. Told me to drop the keys at the drop box by the office that the door would be unlocked to get to the drop box. It was locked. They take off the locks on the windows. Not sure why they do this but it is unsafe for those on the first level. You can hear every conversation your neighbors are having. I even had my car towed with the parking pass. Had to pay 75 dollars to get it back when it shouldn't have been towed in the first place. The only thing good about this place is that it's close to campus. Originally I had given 2 stars just to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, after the deposit situation I am going down to 1 which is probably still too nice to give. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Don't EVER live here unless it's your last option. The management is rude and not courteous at all. I found a cockroach in my apartment and when I went to go complain about it, they blew me off like I was some punk teenager. (I'm 24.) When it was time for me to move out, I got an email stating that I was to be out by a certain date so I packed up my stuff and was out by then. About a week later, I received a bill in the mail for $711 because I had not told them I was moving out......BUT IN THE EMAIL THEY TOLD ME TO BE OUT BY A CERTAIN DATE. I didn't resign with them and even changed my address with the university to my new address.
