My hubby and I decided to try Beavers from the reviews. We've been there several times. It's a rustic place and not rowdy. There are TV screens with sports,weather, etc. The first time we went we loved the food (May 2008) and I had the best cheeseburger and sweet potato fries! For some reason the couple of times we've been back over the past three months I can't say that the burger has been as well prepared...and the service has been slower than we first experienced. It could just perhaps be the summer season...but I was a bit disappointed when I took my daughter there (after raving about the hamburgers) and ours was just an "ok" burger. But I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying this place. My hubby loves the ribs, and the servers do their best. It's not like they are sitting around doing nothing...but somehow it seems different from the first time we went. I asked the last time we were in there (a week ago) if maybe it had changed owners, but I was told no. So I have to assume it's just the days we've gone there.
It's a cozy, good place to talk, relax. Good food (though I've been struggling with the hamburgers lately, hubby loves what he's had)....reasonable...Juke box if you want to play a few tunes. And..a very clean and nice ladies bathroom! :).
I have to say that in the times we've been there, I have not seen any little children there, but I don't see why you couldn't go there with a family. Even though there's a bar shared with the dining area, no one is rowdy or cursing a whole heck of a lot.
Try it. You'll like it.
