If you would have asked me yesterday to name my favorite top five restaurants J Alexanders would have certainly been on my list. However after my experience today I've changed my mind. If you'd like to meet with a friend and have a lesurely lunch this is definitely not the place to go. My friend and I were seated and a waitress was there immediately to take out drink order. Within seconds our server appeared and asked if we were ready to order. We informed her that we hadn't even had an opportunity to look at the menu and we were in no hurry. Seconds later she returned and continued to harash us for our order. We asked her to wait five minutes and we'd decide however she again was back with seconds. We finally ordered and our meal was quickly served. She came back to see if every thing was correct. Never did refresh our water glasses. As soon as we looked like we were finished she was there whisking away the plates. She asked if we wanted dessert and upon replying no presented us with our bill. We sat there for a bit talking after paying the bill when suddenly one of the hostesses or managers just happened by our table and removed the napkins and glasses. Hint, hint...leave! I realize waitresses make their money on tips and the more tables they serve the more they make. However as we were leaving I noticed that there was no one waiting to sit down. Will I return? Probably some day but it won't be a first choice. The food was good but the service was rude and disappointing. I think in today's economy we need to respect everyone or maybe J Alexanders is doing so well they don't need to worry about keeping customers happy.

MY FAVORITE PLACE!!!! potato soup n salad is my favorite sunday meal there. every other day it's steak maui or rot. chicken.

Good food! Good service. Can't go wrong. Please look past that they don't take reservations, but you can call 1/2 hr in advance to get yourself on the list. Its worth the wait.
