Really great place. Fish very fresh and cut properly--not into the too-thin slices often served elsewhere. Try the monkfish liver too--like seafood foie gras

Food was OK: We decided to try Yamato's early on a Friday evening, so there was no wait to be seated. (lots of empty tables) There is not much ambiance, and it was definitely a little difficult to find tucked away behind the Kerrytown Shops. The food was pretty good. We tried sushi and a rice bowl. Unless I am missing something because I do not speak the language, I was disappointed with very limited menu. I did like that they serve Sake. We probably will not go back and try out some other restaurants instead.

Best Japanese food in Ann Arbor: Really the best! Super sushi, rolls, you name it. Gracious service in a tranquil atmosphere. We go at least once a week.
