I have been living in southeast side of ann arbor from 4 yrs, saw blimpies hundreds of times. But never expected whats in there even though I thought of peeking in many times. I wasn't a big burger fan till I saw the show "Driver drive-ins " and they featured Blimpies in there.
The very next day I drove down and had best burger of my life till then and experience just kept getting better every time I go to Blimpies.
The place is small and crowded, but common isnt the small town shops are like that. I would rather pay 2$ more to eat a burger at Blimpies than going to a bar and grill with 50 screens and 500 tables.
Its difficult for new person to go and order and I do accept as somebody else had written that people behind the counter are rude, but believe me they try to give you the best food. There rudeness is a part of service. I am sure a little smiling and helping attitude will attract more people.
Overall 10 out of 10 from me for the food.
The burgers really are that good! We drive for 30 minutes once a month just to get our Blimpy's fix. Study the menu on the wall so that you are ready to order when it's time, although we have never encountered any stressful ordering situations. Staff has always been friendly and it definitely has a unique atmosphere inside.
After the freezing my ars off at the Michigan football game this past Saturday a friend insisted we stop by the joint. My first thought walking in was...dang, this joint is busy and about as big as my cube at work. People were lined up around the entire restaurant then out the door and down the sidewalk...keep in mind it was about 30 degrees out. Each new customer that decided to stand in the doorway and absorb just a little of the heat was quickly told to "Get in or leave, makes no difference to me...JUST SHUT THE DOOR!" The rude attitude was a welcome reminder of the soup Nazi on Seinfeld. The food was well worth it though and I would recommend the place to anyone. Large burger, large pop, large fry, napkin and tray was about $8.

That so-called "rudeness" is just an act!! It is all a part of being Blimpy's...They get long lines and people are hungry and they have to get people through the line. Lighten up!
Dear roadsidedinerlover, I didnt meant to complaint abt so called "rudeness". I was just agreeing with some other reviews and empathizing. Personally I have no problem with their attitude at all. And even I had written that rudeness is a sarcastic part of service.
