Our first time at this restaurant started off a little rocky but was redeemed with the great food. The waitress seated us and forgot to give us menus. So when she returned about 15mins later to take our order we had to remind her we had no menus. Once we did order our food/drinks, it took them until after our apps were served to get us our drinks. Having said that, once the food started rolling in the bad service was forgotten. We ordered the crab rangoon, absolutely delicious, also the fried wonton was great too. I had a thai iced tea with cream..YUM! Our main dishes, Pad Thai and Pad See Ewe were fabulous. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, at most Thai restaurants I can't even order mild, but at Siam Square the mild was just enough to give it a nice kick without being too spicy for me.
Bottom line, the service isn't the greatest, very friendly, just a little unorganized, but the food is well worth it!
I have been to this restaurant at least 20 times. Without fail the food is of high quality.
By far my favorite is the Pad Prig Pow lunch special. It is around $8 and comes with your choice of meat. The sauce is almost paste-thick and is very spicy if you ask for it hot. I prefer the chicken, which comes coated in the sauce and served over a bed of rice & steamed brocolli. Additionally there is a side of Pad Thai & a spring roll for around $8. This is a hall-of-fame lunch generally served within 5 minutes.
The restaurant itself is filled with wood carvings from Thailand. You would have no idea how nice of a place this is by driving by. It's located off the lobby of a relatively run down hotel. If you can get past the hotel, you're in for a real treat.
I really like this place - good food, esp. soup and Pad Prig Paw
