Very crowded and no room to move, but usually full of trashy bar wh-res who are ready and willing. Go here if you plan on taking a lady home for the night. It shouldn't be very difficult.
Don't get me wrong, I love going to Ashley's, but it is more of a pub than a restaurant. I would suggest popping up State St. to one of the many other places and Ann Arbor and then ending your night in a snug booth with a freshly poured pint. One benefit is that it is generally inhabited by adults and grad students so you don't usually have to put up with the undergrad vibe.
Pros: HUGE beer selection; low-priced, tasty food; fun, diverse crowd; generally competent waitstaff
Cons: sometimes it gets to be too loud; a bit smoky inside
Drown yourself in beer and order the onion rings - they're to die for.
