My family loved ones rest at this Cemetery which started with my Grandfather in 1939. Now Grandmother - Sister - Mother - Father - Aunts and Uncles. Never before has this happened for the last three summers the water has been shut off for the grave site watering for families that plant flowers in the memory of love ones. The staff has been telling me lie after lie for three years stating that cars have been driving over the water facets causing the city to turn off water. I have been complaining for three years. I have had to replant flowers time after time because of the lack of water. They don't want to pay the water bill. Each time I call the grounds keeper tells me water will be restored with in two or three days or just another lie. As of Sat. July 26, 08 still no water. Two years ago over 100 grave copper markers were stolen from through-out the grounds. It took over a year for owners to replace two double markers of my families. It is disgusting on how the grounds look, but families keep having funerals every week there, I bet no one tells them that if it doesn't rain your flowers will die!
I now take 15 gallons of water with me when I visit most every Sunday, I'm a senior citizen!
Owner or owners don't care at all ! ! ! !
I complained to the city last year and we know where that went, no were! Typical typical for the City of Detroit, where I still work and live.
