About:The most famous features of the fifth-largest fine arts museum in the United States are the Diego Rivera murals, starkly depicting the artist's view of world history, the industrial revolution and the automobile. They are the gritty, spiritually uplifting center of this vast but manageable museum, whose 100 galleries include more than 60,000 paintings, sculptures and other art objects. Auguste Rodin's famed sculpture "The Thinker" is near the entrance. Impressive permanent collections of Pre-Columbian, Islamic, Flemish, Dutch, African, European, American and Asian art are supplemented by top-notch exhibitions. The museum was renovated and re-opened in 2007, expanding its size by 31,000 square feet. The DIA is an impressive building and a place of both grandeur and contemplation.

the best art i have ever seem: it was like walking in a far distant world.one i never had the pleasure to grow up in.the art was so splendid that it was breath taken.the world of egypt was so beauthyful.and there laid moait.the goddess of egypt.to wonder how it might have been in the nubian world was so unanswered.that 40 trips and a batch of photoes was not enough to learn of my ancestrial homeland.dia made that trip worth the price i paided.if you are like me and want to know who and what you are.go to dia.if you want to be a member take atrip to dia.all of this and the jazz fridays is not enough to say thank you to the exquesti dia for the knowledge that help me to continue to grow on each day.princess ona d.moore

DIA Is Wonderful: My teacher had me go to the DiA to write piece for my English Lit. class on Diego Rivera's "Detroit Industry" Mural. I fell in love w/the DIA all over again. Also on Friday night there is live music and wine is served. Come for a great experience!
