User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe Woo!: The woodward bar and grill is detroits oldest established Gay bar the Temple is older but not classified as a gay bar per se. IT has gone through many transformations and the crowd has changed from an older white clientele to younger more urban crowd. One thing that has remained constatn is a good cocktail. The bartenders free pour and the drink prices are reasonable. I remeber when the Woo was a place to stop and drink before going clubbing. It has now become a place to go (regrettably its one of the few gay black gay bars in the city). Sundays are low key with 2 dollar bloddy mary's and a campy movie. Sunday nights have house music played by legends Stacy "hotwax" Hale and Melvin Hill. Happy hour is a very subdued and there are decent drink specials. Usually a 30+ crowd during that time that gets younger as the night progresses. The burgers are awsome!! Overall it is a great little place to go. Just wish it was bigger
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGood Grill Burgers for the Alternate Crowd: Good place to go after work and get a great burger, steak fries and a corona. The cocktails are strong and pretty good. Mix crowd but caters to black LGBT community. Also, the DJ plays ol' skool, hip-hop and house music (very little tho').
