| About: | When this once-obscure hole-in-the-wall expanded from a bar and poolroom to a big restaurant, it marked the revival of the western portion of Mexicantown. Now Xochimilco is so popular that crowds regularly fill its three dining rooms on the first floor and crowd into second-floor cubicles. Plenty of competitors have opened their doors, but Xochimilco is still the top spot for its dependability. The formula is simple: generous portions of Mexican staples, including tasty guacamole and gargantuan burritos. User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsFood is not that good at all. People always mention this place and how they go there, im surprised. There are so many better restaurants in Mexicantown to choose from. Mexican Village, Armando's, Los Galanes are MUCH better restaurants. Try those places instead

Ordered as a group and was sadly disappointed at the portion size. Paid nearly $7 for guacamole and got about a palm sized portion. Skip the small portions and try another Mexican restaurant!

I can not belive that I would ask that my steak be cooked well done and I was told that they were not a steak house and could not guarentee that it be cooked well. I was in a resturant and I was spending my money so tell me why couldn't I get my steak cooked well done?? I spoke to Emilio whoever he was manager/supervisor at the time and he said the cook only makes the steak medium well and stuck with his statement. I was looking for him to satisfy his customer and say that he will cook the steak well done. I am so angry that for an expensive meal that they would not cook it the way I wanted. I will not spend my money there ever again. Just for kicks ask them to make your steak from the Tapiquena platter well done and see what they say. They may have changed thier tune since I let them have it.

I have not gone to that place since, umh, humph! 2 years ago, very loud, people get drunk in there and are very disrespectful. If you are dating and want to enjoy your conversation, don't go there.
I have always had a good experience here. The food is very good and very reasonbly priced. An entree is under $10.
