I saw the guy making the pizza pick his nose while making my pizza. I walked out and havent been back since. That was about 8 years ago. If I knew he didnt work there and that they had hired some non picking replacements, then I might return.
Visited for the 1st time Feb 3,2009. Service -- waitress tried really hard, but was hamstrung by kitchen. Food arrived altogether or late: pizza, pasta, salad, bread at same time / late (and order was filled wrong). Food: pizza, don't bother if you don't like sweet sauce (I do and thought it was good, my wife doesn't and thought it was poor). Looked like they skimped on sauce (very little) and cheese (lots of empty crust at edges). My children loved linguine alfredo with grilled chicken, thought chicken was esp. nicely seasoned. Salad: colorless, even pallid tomatoes. House Italian dressing good if you like sweet and thick dressing. Bread: very good and huge orders.
Don't even think about asking for something simple like putting alfredo sauce on gnocchi that normally has spaghetti sauce. We did and they practically threw a fit -- didn't we see the menu says no substitutions, didn't we know it cost more, and the boss hadn't told the night manager how much to charge. We were welcome to buy both the linguine and the gnocchi with sauce on the side and be charged for two meals for one person. Never seen anything like it around here.
Also, bring cash, no checks (of course) and no credit cards. This makes it easy on the owner's taxes, I guess, but is a real inconvenience to guests. Again, not in the same league with anything else around here.
Bottom line: Roma's does it's best to make you feel like you're lucky that they're serving you and their food isn't good enough to get away with that.
Romas has the best pizza i have ever had. I have lived in Florida for the last 8 years and I miss it!
