About:The last of Detroit's temporary casinos to open, this classy-looking emporium has by far the best location of the three, in the heart of Greektown. The casino is 90 percent owned by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, who own five other casinos in northern Michigan. A glowing Olympic-style torch and beautifully painted murals mark the entrance to the three-story, USD 200 million, Mediterranean-style casino. Inside are 3,800 slot machines and 180 table games over 75,000 square feet. Child care, free valet parking and a cinema are available, as well as nightly entertainment at the Apollo Lounge. The Alley Grille, which specializes in steaks and seafood, and the Pegasus Taverna, a Greek restaurant, are also on site. Attached is the acclaimed Atheneum Suites Hotel.

I've been to Greektown Casino many times and find it to be clean and safe. Never saw a bum or beggar in or outside the casino.
All you people that are bad-mouthing the casino, probably couldn't afford to loose a few bucks and are bitter.
Come on, write honest reviews or don't write at all!!!!

There is no bargains to be had, they may post a attractive price for a dinner but you get what you pay for. WOW there's a shocker, people came to Detroit and were disappointed with bad service and run down surroundings. Huh !!! I will let you in on a little secret, anyone of the casinos you decide to throw your money away at will SUCK! The under appreciative so call staff could give two shits about you or if you enjoy your time.{ It's all abouts mes why i gots to bes helping dem, I'm on my breaks Shequleta Lee out.} Wonder why the city is falling apart? They keep hiring the people from the area to work there, and look around the majority of the persons living there could care less about the city. Detroit used to be the gem of Mi. now it is infested with scum and bums. Stay safe and drive a few hours to Mt. Pleasant if you fell the need to throw money away supporting casinos.

The $9.99 buffet was the worst food I have ever had. I tried different things and everything was nasty. We did have good service, our waitress did a great job of keeping our glasses full and picking up dirty plates, but that can't make up for how gross the food was. My husband even found some sort of plastic wrapper in his mashed potatoes. We will never eat there again. After eating I tried to find a restroom nearby only to find the the closest bathroom had only 2 stalls in the women's room which meant for a very large line. There also didn't seem to be enough gaming tables because all the tables were full so we ended up just playing slots due to there being no openings at the tables. They have a nice assortment of slot machines (dollar amounts and games) but the machines needed to be wiped down. I'm not a neat freak or anything but with all the flu and H1N1 crap going around you'd think they could walk by every once in a while and wipe it down. There looked to be several months worth of finger prints on all the machines. All in all the gambling wasn't too bad but I won't go back to Greektown. Next trip to Detroit we'll try another area casino.
