Our daughter was strictly breastfed for a week, then I was hospitalized and on antibiotics that made it unsafe for me to do so. For 10 days she had to use formula, and was not a big fan. She did a lot of vomitting after eating. I was not worried because as soon as I could feed her again, I did. Long story short, when we went for our first check-up, our former pediatrician was condesending and rude to me and my husband ( we are both nurses, but not peds nurses.) When we asked questions, he was rude and didn't do a great job explaining anything, he just put a lot of unneccessary worry on a new mom. ENTER Dr.STRUMBA!!! Our next apt, she was the only one that could see us. She was so supportive! When she came to examine our little bean, she was still tiny and had not gained much weight. Dr. Struma told me to feed her right there in the office and we would weigh her again right after. I did, and then we weighed her and she told us that our daughter was just fine and was gaining as she needed to and that breastfed babies are leaner. She also took the time to listen to the fact that this little lady was stuck with formula for 10 days and my husband and I both thought that was why she was not gaining a ton of weight, that plus the stress of being away from mommy while i was in the hospital.
I don't know what I would've done without Dr. Struma!!! I did not plan on stopping breastfeeding, but I was losing faith after seeing the other doctor.
She is amazing and really remembers her patients and their families. I highly recommend her to anyone! She is also really open to the fact that our daughter is mostly vegetarian ( we do a great job getting her nutrients in) and Dr. Strumba is very receptive and inquizative about how we do it, never condescending or fearful.
We husband and I absolutely LOVE HER!
I was looking for a doctor I can trust for a long time. I was really pleased when my 2 boys met Dr. Strumba. She fills you with optimism and hope when you are lost. She helps to find and make the right decision. She answers all the questions (during the visit or by phone) with patience. I like the methods of treatments she recommends for my kids. They are really simple and helpful. Every time when my kids are sick, I ready to drive for 45 minutes just to be sure that they are in a reliable hands. I recommend Dr. Strumba for everybody!!!
Dr. Strumba has been my daughter's pediatrician for about a year now. My daughter is 14 months old. I wanted her to have a Russian speaking doctor, and I've been very happy with my choice of Dr. Strumba. She is always very friendly and at the same time very professional. She answers all my questions in detail, and I, as a new mom, have a lot of questions. During every visit Dr. Strumba also asks me questions about my daughter's development, so it's easy for me to see that everything is going well or something needs more of my attention. I would highly recommend Dr. Strumba as a pediatrician for your children.
