Almost as good as home: I am from the big town of Scott, Louisiana. Now living here in the state of Michigan, I am a bit hesitant to try out dishes that CLAIM they are Cajun.
I have recently broken down and tried Applebee's New Orleans dish. It was almost as good as if my mother made it. It had real cajun spices, not just cayenne pepper! I really did not care for the Brown rice they give you with it, but it was do- able. I would get this dish again whenever homesick.
