I have been getting my birthday cakes from Pete's oven for as long as I can remember. I continue this tradition with my family today. Sadly my kids don't care for their cakes as I do but I at least get one each year for my birthday still. Since the owners have canged a while back there is something different about the tastes. To older owners I'm guessing must have used a more costly (and probably higher in fat content). What ever it was, for me it was addicting. I would get up in the middle of the night just craving a piece of cake. Although the new recipe is still very good and the service is better (longer hours and open on weekends), there seems to be something missing. The Cake is a different texture and the frosting is a littl differnt as well. Don't get me wrong, they are still excellent but might not be for everyone. It is a very very sweet taste and some people just can't eat it.
