Richard Beckwith Floors carpeted my home theater which had a ramp and a riser stage and stairs in very odd places. The carpet install went perfect and took only 4 hours. The results are absolutely perfect. I plan to hire them again for the rest of my house.
I was recommended to Richard of R. Beckwith Floors by a friend who had him install his wood floors and carpet in their new home. I liked what I saw and knew that I would be needing new floors in my house. Initially I went to Lowes to see what they had to offer. I was instantly turned off by the salesman that I encountered. I immediately contacted Richard (the owner) at his showroom located in an unassuming office complex on Northwestern Hwy. I was quite surprised to learn that his family had been in the carpet business (Beckwith-Evans) in Detroit for over 60 years. In spite of the rather small size of the showroom the selection was extensive. Richard has an easy going, no pressure style and I was impressed with his product knowledge and honesty. I had my mind set on a berber carpet and Richard informed me in a gentle way that this was not current and suggested a Frieze style. I am delighted in his recommendation. The installer (Dan) was courteous, prompt and careful around my belongings. I highly recommend R. Beckwith Floors for anyone wanting a quality job at a more than fair price.
Did a nice job with hardwood floors. Unfortunately the carpet installation was horrible. After a few years the carpet developed ripples all over in multiple rooms of the house. They claimed it was due to commercial carpet cleaning - which I've never had done. We had it restretched by someone else (because Beckwith charged an arm & leg for it)& you would be amazed at how much excess was cut off! The installers must have just cut it & laid it down NO STRETCHING. Would not recommend unless they have installers that know what they're doing.
