User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWow. The best sushi place we have found in Michigan. We have tried many in Commerce, West Bloomfield, Birmingham, Troy and many more. This is the best so far. The staff is amazing and they actually know who you are and thank you for your patronage. The sushi has always been spot on. No it is not true Asian sushi but most of us like the Asian American Flair. Some highlights are Salmon on the beach, King Crap Tempura with Spicy sauce, Spider crab roll and so much more. The ginger salad is the best around and all the appetizers are amazing. They have a full bar and some desserts. Bottom lineâ¦the food, service and atmosphere is the best anywhere when it comes to sushi!

I am Japanese, so I can tell you with some authority that the food here is not authentic Japanese. They seem to be trying a "fusion" version, with mixed results. As least on the day that I went, the "sushi chef" was not a sushi chef at all, but an unskilled employee just cutting fish and putting it on a lump of rice. The sushi crumbled before they even brought it out. The other food was okay, but not really "Japanese."

I'm not asian, so I'm not sure I would know what "american" sushi is...I just know I love sushi. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in the area...some where I was the only non-asian there. Anyway, I just ate at Shiro last weekend and I have to say we loved it. It was a unique setting; had excellent service; and the food was great. Let's face it we'd all like to eat cheaply, but honestly, I didn't think the prices were out of line or any different than other similar places. I feel sorry that some of the more recent reviews were so negative. Frankly, it almost made me think twice about going, but someone I know really highly recommended the place so I went anyway. I too would highly recommend it myself and can't wait to go back.
