User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsJust returned from a 2 night stay at the Doherty and couldn't be more pleased. My room was very clean and quiet. There was ample parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'm in the area a few times a year on pleasure, and I now have a new favorite place to stay.

We have stayed here many times over the last five years. And it has to be the best hotel in the area. It has a great pool, very nice clean rooms, and the best restaurant. The hotel is family owned and operated, and they do a great job. There new years party package is the best we have been to in a long long time,great food,music and not crowded like all hall parties.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've stayed at the doherty for the past 3 years the weekend after Valentine's day. Just up the road in Harrison, they have a annual golf tournament on the ice. The Doherty is by far the best Hotel to stay at in the surrounding area. The in house resturant is outstanding, the in house Irish Pub is great for a relaxing drink in a beautiful setting. The history of the place is great. The ammenities are top notch. If anyone is headed to the "great white north" in Michigan, I would definately make it a point to stay for at least one night to rest your driving foot.
