Portions are small, nothing like I'm used to at Mandrin House. The egg rolls and Crab Cheese are good, but the main dishes were pretty bland. My General Chicken was mild enough for a 4 year old to eat without batting an eyelash. I will say the actually quality of the chicken was very high though.

I was amazed this restaurant used white instead of dark meat, even while the menu prices were competitive everywhere in the area. Although, we were expecting a full dining experience, this restaurant is more of a fast food atmosphere where you pick the food at the counter. However, the food was amazing, and I can't believe the crab rangoons and the spice sour soup. Everywhere I have had spice sour soup there was too much vinegar in the soup, and they had real chunks of tofu, and real chunks of the fish that tastes like crab in their crab rangoons. Coming from California, I was impressed with the freshness of the food and the green peppers were crisp in the almond chicken. My husband had the broccoli chicken, and the cuts of beef was A grade.

Crab Rangoons are the best and this place is cheap, but you can tell they use real chicken breast in their food. Only complaint is the new ownership changed some of the recipes, like the sweet and sour sauce. I have ate at this restaurant for 15 years, almost once a week since then. I will admit the staff is not the friendliest, but if you are looking for fast service, don't want to pay for a waiter, authentic chinese food with no MSG, and quality food this is the place. This place and Star's are the only places in Bay City I would eat for Chinese and it figures as they are the longest standing restaurants with both over 20 years in business. I work for the Health Department, and in the last 8 years, this restaurant has had the highest rating for cleanliness, although by looking at the cashiers you would not think so.
