Darb's is an excellent place to eat. The laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and awesome food makes it a favorite! Our family goes there at least once a week! Five stars!
I just found this website and what a great idea. My niece and I made a trip over to Keans and stopped into Darbs for one of their delicious cheeseburgers. They are the best. Their service is so personable and friendly and I love that Creme Brule. Connie and Ashley we love you and yes the cook should have a muzzle on. ha ha ha Not really just kidding everyone there is the best.
I have never had a more disgusting, more disappointing customer service experience in my personal or professional life than I have at Darb's Tavern and Eatery in Mason, MI. If you catch the staff on a bad day - which is all to frequently - you will be treated like the dirt they forgot to scrape from the floor that morning. I have been there 5 times in 6 months - never again for the foreseeable future. It is a horrendous environment for a dining customer and I can only imagine what difficulty must await the honest, hard working staff who do manage to hold jobs there (however honest few there may be).
The place is run like a dictatorship with senior staff passing judgement on both customers and their fellow employees alike. There is no "business management" staff managing to manage this business. None.
The worst of these waitress warlords who ruin the nights of customers and staff alike is a woman we will call "C". She is offensive in every manner, rude in every way and makes life difficult for those who work and dine around her. She is hard to miss. She looks like a survivor from Auschwitz that isn't managing to survive with any good humor or common decency. She is literally a cancer on the place. I will not return to Darb's until I see she "retires" or is retired naturally, professionanlly or otherwise, or gets too tired of treating customers and employees like they are not living human beings. She is Darb's "Grim Reaper" without the charm.
Avoid Darb's. Go to the Mason Jar and be among smiles and friendly folks. I will be spreading the word online and in person. Can you hear me Connie? Darb's is Bad News for all who work there and dine there in the end - especially at the end of her shift. With you gone the place might be decent. Thanks to her gross indecency it is not.

I often dine at Darbs and I find this comment very offensive. This is not a proper judgement at all. Darbs is a very fun friendly atmosphere with wonderful food and dining. If you have a personal attack on one of the waitstaff, take it else where.
J Smith seems arrogant & pretty rude himself, after reading his review. I have been going in to Darb's for years & my sister was even lucky enough to be able to work there for a few years. That job put her through college! Get rid of the bitterness, Mr. Smith, it causes cancer. The place & the people are wonderful.
