Max & Emily's Bakery Cafe

THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG, FORGOT TO MAKE MY MOCHA, SERVED MY LUNCH PARTNER 20 MINUTES BEFORE BRINGING OUT MY ORDER (THEY GOT IT WRONG), AND THEN THEY PREPARED WHAT I DID ORDER AND IT WAS TERRIBLE. I E-MAILED THE MANAGER AND RECEIVED ZERO RESPONSE. MUST BE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. BAD SERVICE AND BAD MANAGEMENT.

This cafe is small enough to be personal but has the menu selection of a much larger establishment. There were a tremendous variety of sandwhiches to choose from. As a vegetarian I was very pleased with the options that I had. The food is fantastic, definitely above par. We loved the cheesecake.

A Downtown Tradition: Max & Emily's has excellant sandwiches, breakfast or lunch and great dessert. I think they are known for their cheesecake. Even their ice tea is above par. The only complaint I have is that the salad is a gamble. They switched to spring mix - which had me excited, but then I got 2 salads in a row where the leaves were just nasty. I guess if they started holding that to a higher standard, I'd give them a total 5 stars. But do give them a try. It's usually worth the gamble.
