El Azteco

Great food. I have not found any other Mexican place up to par with El Azteco. The Lansing location is much better than the East Lansing location. The service and the atmosphere is great at the Lansing location. The East Lansing location has the same food quality but lacks in service and cleanliness, but still good atmosphere. I no longer live in MI but we always make it point to eat there about twice a year.

Awesome!! Great place to people watch. Kick Butt Pitchers of Sangria. Toppo Salad rocks! Burrito plate is outstanding. DO NOT FORGET--the cheese dip for your chips! Have been coming to this place since I was a kid. My husband and I had our first date here.

This is the only place I will drive 85 miles to eat at. It is also the only place I have found that has bluecorn enchaldas, which are to die for.

Note El Azteco's food is different then the rest so if you go there and like it, nothing else will do. El Azteco is the standard that I judge all other Mexican food, many have fallen to the way side, and only a few have raised above it.

As far as the comment about the kitchen. I have worked in many kitchens and I have learned that you should never go in the kitchen of a place you like because you won't like what you see in there. Why ruin a good thing. The health department is ther to make sure the place is safe. Anyway I say, If the kitchen looks too good they can't cook.

El Az used to be my favorite till two other authentic restaurants have opened- Los Tres Amigo and Cancun- Better choices of authentic Mexican food at great prices!
