User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis place was reopened as is now called Mumbai or something like that. We ate here after the MSU vs. Michigan football game. We were in a good mood due to the result of the game, and the food here just made a good day better. Paneer and lamb vidaloo was outstanding and spiced to our request. I will definitely go back. Servers were polite and attentive.

I'm not a big fan of Indian food, however this is a great place! The garlic pita bread is to die for! the service is great and the owner is very charming and very involved in the service, management, and cooking. I understand some people are difficult to please, however if this was brought to the owner, Paddy, he would certainly fix the problem. Paddy bought this restaurant a couple months back and has been constantly improving the menu, the dinning area, and the overall experience. The staff is always helpful if you are not familiar with menu items or are a picky eater. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in trying Indian food, anyone who already is a fan, or anyone looking for a unique experience.

This place is not very good, and I will not go back. I will tell you why.
1) We went for the buffet on may 10th, 17th 2009 ocassions, I can swear the was no food or no naan, and other stuff.1st time naan tooked:45 min, 2nd naan, 55min. 3 time no vegetable curry.
I call asked owner, Manager, or cheff, because of service he said
because of Mother's Day(May 10) we are busy, Same think for May 17 we are busy, even during dinner time they are not busy, but service is crapy.
2) Bath room, hello India public restroom.
3) When we go their, no one has time only time to give water good service with water people go to res. to eat not drink water Mr. cheff, Man. or Owner.
I dont know what the deal is, but that is just a no-no.
4, we dont get service, we dont get fresh food and we are looked at like we are aliens who are not welcome.
5) never again.
6) Try Sindhu's indian cuisine in okemos

*NOTE* This review seems very questionable, mainly because half of it is copied from a previous review by "Anntaylorsmith" on 12/22/07 (scroll down to see) - which isn't a review of the current India Palace, but the old one. It really sounds like someone from Sindhu's is trying to give their competition a bad reputation while giving themselves free advertising. NOT COOL!
