I can honestly say I have never received worse service anywhere in my life, and this is the first company I have taken the time to write a review of any kind.
Our daughter took a formal gown to Baryames - this "professional" dry cleaner to have the wrinkles removed so she could wear it for the first time, and was told to sign a waiver stating that the "cleaning" process may ruin the gown, even though I only asked for it to be pressed. They forced her to sign a waiver even though she is a minor. When the dress was picked up, the outside sheer skirt had shrunk over 3 inches, and in some areas 4 inches above the underskirt. When I attempted to discuss this with their manager, the manager would not even talk to me at all! Baryames Cleaners sure "Took me to the cleaners" - totally ruining a dress valued at about $400!
I called other (reputable) cleaners and was given instructions on how to restore the shape of the dress as much as possible. The other cleaning companies said it comes down to having a conveyor belt operation - without caring how things turn out.
I was upset when it happened. However, I was infuriated that this company has no regard for "customer service," and never will, especially when the manager would not give me the time of day... literally.
As for location, it really does not matter - all clothing goes to the same slaughter house from all branch stores. Hope that helps!
I went in the purchase a tuxedo. When the manager said they didn't have the jacket in my size to sell and it would have to be ordered I asked if I could use one of their rentals for an event for the time being. I was told that I would not be able to use the rental without paying full price for a tux rental!!! Not only did they loose my business of buying a tux but they have permanently lost my business. The manager repetitiously told me that the owner was very bad business woman and that she didn't understand that they shoudl take care of their customers and they will make more money. I was ready to spend $400 that day on buying a tux. Instead I went and bought a tux at the Mens Wearhouse. Much better service...
THE OWNER OF BARYAMES IS TERRIBLE!!
November 2, 2008
Over the years I have had thousands of shirts cleaned and pressed at any one of the many Baryames stores here in Lansing, Mi.
However, for several years now I have enjoyed the professionalism and attentiveness of a manager named Ginger. With her I have NEVER had any cleaning or lost garment issues. THAT is why I continue to return to her store
Tomorrow Ginger will be moving to the Cedar Street store in Holt, Michigan as their manager.
Needless to say, I will be transfering MY business to that Baryames store location. I would encourage others to give her a try as well!!!

Thanks for the info... This is at least the second bad experience I've heard about this company. It sounds like they are just not customer service oriented. I was considering taking my wedding dress there, which has been turned into a cocktail dress so I still wear it. Now I will definitely take it elsewhere!!!
