Sorry Skweezed had such a bad time. We eat there frequently and have never heard nor seen any customer having such a hard time. We like the other reviewers found it like an old fashioned, homecooking restuarant of yesteryear. Warm friendly service, large servings, reasonable prices, great atmosphere and decor. After your 1st visit you will be greeted by your first name as everone who comes in is. Constant, personal attention by the 2 co-owners and their staff. I think Skweezed has missed out on a lot of good meals over just a "cup of coffee"
If you like a home town family style diner this is the place for you. Good food good service. Every one knows everyone else in the place. People laughing smiling and feeding their faces.
Lost business over a cup of coffee!!
Went to this restaurant this morning for breakfast. My husband ordered a cup of coffee with his. He couldn't even drink it. He asked me to taste it, and it tasted like the bottom of the pot. When the waitress brought our breakfast, we mentioned that he couldn't drink the coffee. The waitress totally ignored the comment, didn't apologize, didn't take the cup away, and didn't ask my husband if she could bring him something else. She just walked away, and from that point on, dissed us.
When we got the bill, I noticed we were over charged, and being charged for the coffee. I called the waitress over and asked her to explain the bill. She had over-charged for my breaksfast, and she had charged for the bad cup of coffee. She corrected the bill for my breakfast, but told us we must pay for the coffee. She said she considers it a matter of "personal choice" and she cannot take it off the bill. I asked to talk to the owner, and she said she is the owner and walked away. I said, "Fine, we'll pay for it, but we won't be back." She said "fine". So, over a cup of coffee, she loses customers and has bad publicity. When my husband went to pay the bill, I asked her did she not care about word of mouth and she said, "yes, I care". I told her that for an owner of a business, I thought her customer service skills were poor, because she could have offered my husband something else to drink, or even a fresh cup of coffee, that we would have been happy to pay for. She then said, "Well, I would take it off the bill now, but I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference to you!" Actually, what would have made a difference, is if she would have made that offer at the table, and offered to get my husband something else to drink, instead of giving us a discusted look, and snubbing us. The food was decent, and I really liked the Sausage Gracy. So, over a cup of coffee, we will never go back.
