Comfort Suites Benton Harbor

I was very displeased with my stay at this comfort suites. My company and I come here for business every year but this year was especially unsatisfying. I didn't arrive until 10:00pm the night I checked in for the entire week and arrived to a steamy hot room where the air conditioner didn't work very well. It kept shutting off too soon so that the room wasn't cooling down. Too tired too complain that night I mentioned it in the morning.

I also wasn't informed that they were cleaning the carpets in the rooms and the housekeeping staff still entered my room even though I had a "Do Not Disturb" sign in the cardreader. I was very disappointed.

Lastly, I was disappointed that my returning visits didn't suffice enough for the management to allow my to check out late without charging me. I finished my work early and wasn't going to be staying in the room but due to the cleaning staff having already left, "they couldn't sell the room". I think that a little hospitality goes a long way when your vacancy is almost 80%+ (guess).

Either way, I will be leaving this review on here and not returning with my coworkers in years to come.

This Place SAVED Our Vacation: Coming from a 12 hour stay at a "resort" in Three Rivers with a very mis-leading website, this placed SAVED our family vacation. We traveled from Three Rivers up to Kalamazoo with no luck at finding a place to stay, then south to Benton Harbor/St Joe to find pretty much every hotel and motel booked solid for a Whirlpool convention that week. Then we found the Comfort Suites. The manager worked with us to get us a room every night of our week long stay. Though we had to move twice to accomidate pre-registered Whirlpool conventionears, the staff was very good at getting our expected room cleaned and turned over by 11am so that we could easily move from one to the other.
This place is close to tons of resturants (kid friendly) and a WalMart (which we needed with our change of lodging) as well as a Movie Theater and Mini-golf and batting cages near by (also, very kid friendly).
The breakfast was awesome, coffee was kept filled 24/7 and there was a georgous lobby area with comfy couches and chairs.
Pool area was nice and clean as well.
They are located about 10 minutes away from downtown St Joe and the beaches and Lake Michigan. Very reasonably priced....I really can't say enough great things about this place.
