Dimaggios Pizza & Burgers

Horrible place. Horrible atmosphere and service. The pizza was good, but they charge you for each small loaf of bread. The place is too small, dingy, the tables are very small and tacky. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by cigarette smoke. Apparantely the smoking section includes the front door area where people walk in. There was a table right in front of us that had 2 people smoking. The non-smoking section has its own special place. It should be the other way around. I envisioned the place to be more of a restaurant atmosphere, but it was a smoke-filled bar instead. We couldn't find a place to sit because all the tables were dirty (and it was hardly busy). When I asked the server to clean our table, she bristled. When she came to take our order she asked us if we were ready. We said yes, and she just walked to the other side of the room, and chatted with an old couple for 10 minutes, bitching about Medicare. The place was also very loud and crammed and uncomfortable. In the bar area, ok, but not in the non-smoking section. This place is only for locals. If you are an outsider with any sort of expectations, they give you an attitude. A definite hick place. The pizza is also very expensive. A 12" costs $15 alone with no toppings! The server had a bad attitude. I asked for a second knife and she hesitated, and asked if something was wrong. What's it to her? Also, the place was loud, so I had to raise my voice to get her attention, and she would take it as if I'm yelling at her, turning around and giving me this look. I had heard about this place and was looking forward to checking it out, it even looked nice from the outside, but I will never go there again. I wish there was an option for 0 stars because that's what I would give. The best pizza in the area is not Dimaggio's, it is Passero's.

Coming from Chicago the best pizza destination in the world.I can say this place is home away from home.No FIP talk here.A southside bar decor.Genuine friendly service,a good bar and good pizza.What more can you ask for...
