Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: I guess the owners of the 5-Mile Drive-In finally checked their own Reviews page and didn't like what they saw. It looks like they had all of their friends, family, and ex-employees write positive reviews while blasting people with opinions different than theirs. You can tell their reviews by the menus and prices they listed, and telling YOU what a great deal they are. I'll decide for myself what is a "good deal". One of my biggest gripes was the 50% price increase (for two people) they imposed when they reopened. Small increases would have been much more acceptable. It looks like plain greed. Why not charge more, a large part of the clientele is Illinois people with lake "cottages" in Sister Lakes?. Why not double the price again to $28 a carload, they'll probably still think it's a great deal! Another gripe is putting the vans in the back. Don't you guys know you've alienated your largest group of customers? Many people don't drive cars anymore, even with the bad economy. No one will ever know how many van owners don't go to the drive-in anymore because of your policies. Would you go to football games or go to the theatre to see a play if every time you were put into the back row for some ill concieved reason? Why not cut the parking lot into 3 "pie sections" and put the cars in the "middle slice" and the vans and such in the two "outer slices". That would be more fair to all, cars get a clear view and vans have a chance to park close to the screen if they get there early enough. As I said in my earlier review, we haven't been back to the drive-in. Now, as a final straw, I see the 5-Mile has instituted a "no outside food or drink rule". You can say anything you want to justify that nonsense, you're just trying to debunk a long standing tradition. I'll be damned if I let some "flashlight wielding Nazi" rummage through my vehicle looking for food and drink contraband (how else would they find anything?). Even the Police Department is prevented from illegal Search and Seizure by Constitutional decree. Here's some other ideas for you. Ban "ouside lawn chairs and bug spray" too. You can rent lawn chairs for a nominal fee and sell an in-house bug spray! These are just my personal opinions and if you don't like them, tough! If I have to pay the price that an Indoor Theater charges, then I choose to go to the indoor. The picture and sound is better, I don't have to sit in the back, there's no bugs, and I don't think they'll violate my Constitutional Rights!

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: My wife and two daughters and son-in law were there sat. night for Transformers and StarTrek. Had a great time. Our first time there and thought it was run very well. The people working were very courteous and did a good job of explaining the parking situations to us.

I don't know what these people are complaining about. In all of my experiences at both the 5 mile and sun set drive INS the environment and service was great. I was able to take 3 of my friends and myself for two movies and a great night out for only $14 bucks. Impossible to do anywhere else. They recently started this no outside food or drink policy but when asked to put it away and not to bring it again I was given a good reason why. Did you know that a good percentage of the admission cost goes to the movie rentals? They need our money in the snack bar to keep going. Sounds fair to me. The popcorn they sell is some of the best popcorn I’ve ever had. Each snack bar at both has a wonderful variety of awesome food at a good price. (WHOLE PIZZA AT 5 MILE FOR ONLY $7 AND AT SUN SET YOU CAN GET A REAL BURGER AND FRIES FOR ONLY $4). and for the parking I have a full size ford f 150 and a little Buick regal I make it a point to take my truck every time the picture in the back of the theater is just as good as the front the manager Neal told me of all the updates the owners put in to the projectors to make the picture as good as it is. He offered me a tour of the whole thing and showed me how it all works it's quite amazing. The trucks vans and SUVs in the rows behind the snack bar is a courtesy to everyone. Not only do you not have to worry about being blocked if you’re in a car but when I go out there with like my sister and her family I can always see where my nices and nephew are. I don't have to search around big trucks and vans up front to see what they are doing all I have to do is look. And there they are. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the way theses two drive INS are run and operated. The owners of these places have done a great job at making a safe and good environment for me my friends and my family I would certainly recommend both the 5 mile and sun set drive in theater to any movie goers
