My wife & I usually order from the vending cart outside which is good. This time we decided to eat inside at lunch time. Big Mistake. Service was horrible, food was horrible. We went inside there was one set of people in front of us & 2 sets of tables open. I stood in line watching the open table for about 10 minutes. I asked the manager she finally sat the people in front of us at a different open table. I contined to watch this one table open so asked her to sit us there, finally she did. As for our drinks it took approx. 10 minutes to get water. As for our soda it was forgotten. We order sweet & sour chicken (off the lunch part of the menu. After another 20 minutes we still did not recieve our soda and my wife had only got her salad; I considered leaving and should have!!! I decided to give them a few more minutes. Then out come our food. I had to reask the waitress for our soda that was forgotten! Their salad is marginal and they have no real salad dressing (just their brand), as for the sweet & sour chicken it is breaded & fried crunhcy & alot of bread. THe egg rolls were so greasy that I used my only napkin to drain the grease & is was soaked. I asked the waitress for napkins which never were brought to me. As for the rice inside is is bland. Outside at the cart it is fried rice with cut up chicken ( 7 is good). Everything inside was horrible waiting to be seated with tables open, waitng 10 minutes for water, waitng 30 minutes for food & never getting soda until reask again when your food comes out. THe food inside was so horrible i eneded up coming outside buying ffrom the cart outside (yes they actually was different food, better quality outside on their vending cart then from inside) Anywasy i went outside bought food & brought it back inside and split it up with my wife on both of our plates.
Needless to say the waitress did not receive a tip at tall, and we usually give 20% tips when we go somewhere like the cottage bar & grill. Anyways, we asked to talk to the manager found out the mean hostess was the manager, so then we asked to talk ot the owner & got the run around for about 20 minutes (standing outside attempting to tell customres about the bad serive) finally one of the owners came to talk ot us (my wife & self). He was nice unlike staff gave me another pop & offered 2 free lunchs, we didn't want inside is was so horrible so we accepted 2 free from the vending cart for a later time. About a week later we returned to the vending cart outside & got our free lunch but had to pay for 2 sodas. If you are downtown grand rapids and you want chinese food & try the xo asian cart outside (which is good & nice prices) don't be fooled and go inside. Inside is poor service, poor quality & different food, and greasy eggs rolls & higher prices to sit inside. You are better off eating from the cart or just going 2 blocks up the street to the cottage bar & grill (it is on fulton behind one trick pony). Most of there food is excellent. THey have good chesseburgers, sandwhiches, steaks, wet burritoes. As for XO Asian inside cost us $16 for what outside would have cost $8 to $10. And we still had to go outside to order what we wanted in the first place. So don't be fooled and go inside unless you like poor service, greasy egg rolls, bready greassy fried sweet sour chicken and bland poor quality rice. As for Xo Asian vending cart outside the door it is good. If you want to get good chinese food try the one at woodland mall (just make sure you tell them to go then you get twice as much (same price).

Average. The service was good and the portions were quite large, but the food wasn't all that great. The water also tasted very bad.

Very inventive menu. I had the Pineapple Fried rice and it was AMAZING!!!! Best place Chinese food in GR. Had a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly.
