I took the four year old and six year old I nanny for. They had a great time. We were able to see most of the animals in the three hours we were there. They really enjoyed feeding the budgies. We spent twenty five minutes in the budgie cage feeding them. Which is quite a feat for two children who don't usually sit still for more than 4 minutes at a time. We also pet the sting rays and bought food to feed them, it was fun, however the children were afraid to feed them. We had a great time there and felt it was worth the 45 minute drive to get there. They have asked to return several times. We will return again rather than going to the closer Binder Park zoo.

We just got back, my 8 year old nephew and myself, from John Ball Zoo. What a great experience. This was my first time here and my nephew's 5th or 6th time.
Clean, very friendly employees, the animal were mostly very active. Some were sleeping as they normally do, but the active ones were healthy looking and alert. Display areas immaculate in appearance and realistic for the animals. I especially liked the budgie display, did not feed them, but enjoyed the healthy look and actions of them.
Even the concession stands with the food were clean and the hot dogs a great price for a tourist attraction.
Over all a terrific place to go and spend a few hours. First time there for me and not the last time. I will be back!!

John Ball Zoo: Beautiful zoo! They are improving it all the time. Love all the "special" themes they do.
