My dauther went to Meijer Garden to inquire about a wedding reception for 350 people. The girl that worked for Meijer told her that she would be better off going somewhere else because they do not serve the food that you people eat.( Meaning Black People )
My dauther ( 2003 EK Grad,2007 NMU Grad,2009 WMU Grad ) Just turned around and walked out the door.......
She is now being taken care of by TONY NOTO's 6600 28th st.
They took care of everything! and yes, they serve Black people !

Frederik Meijer Garden's can hold events. I had no idea that they had a catering service in house. I just recently used Taste of the Garden's Catering service. They are a real hidden treasure. The name Taste of the Garden's does not give it justice. The food goes way beyond the beauty of the Garden's itself. I have still yet to find a Caterer to come close to Taste of the Gardens Catering.

These gardens are very unique because there are many beautiful sculptures to view. The Children's Garden had my favorite sculpture, the frog. There are also many other fantastic sculptures throughout the park. I really enjoyed the Arid Garden with the armidillo sculptures and the desert plant life. My favorite experience was in the Tropical Conservatory where there were several chinese quail running around. I learned they are birds but they don't fly. Very fun to watch. There were also some finches and other birds flying around. The orchids were beautiful in the conservatory. The Woodland Shade Garden is scenic and quiet and a nice place for a walk. I liked seeing the ducks in the wetlands area of the Scenic Boardwalk. Definitely worth the trip!
