To the Review below, its a good thing you left, we live here in Interlochen for 7 years now, my wife and I tired to go eat there and had the same experience except we did get served, breakfast, and this was the first time I could not eat what I had ordered, it was an omelette and I could not eat it, I've never had old eggs before but thats what I think was wrong, or something, and the cook kept coming out and looking at me too which makes me wonder. But there are other places here that are pretty good tho just not Grandma's Kitchen.

Time Waster: My hubby and I had been traveling most of the morning (after an exhausting week hosting a booth at the Greatest Fourth of the North in Lake City), and we decided to spend some time visiting the surrounding towns, including Interlochen. After driving and being very tired anyway, we were looking for a good place to sit and enjoy a pleasant meal. We saw Grandma's Kitchen and decided it looked very nice.

After entering the restaurant, we stood for about five minutes while waitresses flitted about. One waitress even sat down at a table to talk to her guests. Finally, someone seated us at a booth and brought us glasses of water.

We watched the waitresses float by us, and again watched the same waitress sit down at a booth behind us to talk to the people there. Not one person talked to us. It was not a busy place, and in fact was after 1:00 p.m.

After 15 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. And we won't be back. In a recent conversation about the restaurant with his boss, my husband found out his boss and wife had a very similar experience, and they're not going back either.

Unfortunately we didn't get to taste the food, and it appears that unless you're local to the area, or dress like you have money (for heavy tipping), don't bother visiting this restaurant. It's a time waster! Grandma's Kitchen is losing business.
