User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFantastic Pancakes.This place is a must stop if in th upper peninsula. stayed in area for a week ate at suomi every day I was there. Coffeshop feel, butbut great food.

Suomi is an amazing little restaurant that serves traditional Finnish food as well as some American favorites. Breakfast there is always a treat and VERY cheap. Go for the pancakes that are bigger than the platter, the pannakkuka with warm raspberry sauce, or the Finnish french toast that's always perfect done. If you aren't in the mood for Finnish food, the have breakfast staples like regular pancakes, hash browns, bacon, sausage, ham, eggs...you name it. Go for lunch for a real home cooked meal or a genuine pasty. Look at the pictures on the wall that show old school Houghton as you eat. Chit chat with the oh so friendly wait staff. And make sure to pick up some bakery on the way out!

Food: AWESOME
Wait staff: AMAZING
Price: CHEAP (get WAY more than what you pay for)
Atmosphere: SUPERFLY
