Went twice. Both times the food was so-so. Nothing to get excited about. Probably will not go again.
The food is excellent. I'm craving the shredded beef tacos just sitting typing this review. The salsa is great, made fresh daily. I do wish the chips weren't bagged, but I understand the problems with making them (time, space, and safety constraints). I've never had better fajitas or margueritas anywhere else. Not only are the staff pleasant and helpful, the customers are friendly too! It's not unusual to see regulars moving from table to table, visiting each other.
BTW - The reviewer named coldturkeyandham is a doofus. The menu is plenty big. I guess it would be small if you only eat at places that serve 15 pages worth of mostly frozen and warmed-over garbage, like an Applebee's or a Denny's.
This was by far the most funny experience I had while in Escanaba.
You get a little menu with only moron proof Spanish food.. It's a Spanish establishment in the U.P. (haha) I have never seen a Spanish person in the U.P. on any of my visits.
The food was terrible. Maybe I am biased because I have the fortune of eating authentic Spanish food, but this was a joke. The menu was tiny! The food was cooked by U.P. kids in high school.. Can you tell me how U.P. kids in high school can make authentic Spanish food? With no trace of Spanish ethnicity within the whole U.P.
I really felt someone was doing an injustice serving this food to people and calling it "authentic" Spanish food.....

I agree with you. I think the only people who believe this is "Good Mexican Food" are those who have never had authentic Mexican Food. While it isn't "Bad" I wish some more people from Escanaba would travel to Marquette and try Tres Amigos (I think that is the name) located next to Menards. They serve authentic mexican food and although I have had "Better" Mexican food in Wisconsin it is better then this place. exyooper obviously has never been to an authenic mexican restaurant because if he/she has they would have noticed that a typical mexican restaraunt has "Combinations" that have the minimum of 10 different plates to choose from. Then you have the large selection of burritos, enchilladas (yes more then just beef can be in an enchillada..try it!) Tamale's (Pork, Beef, Chicken) fluata's, I can't even name all the dishes I have had at "authentic Mexican Restaurants". Ferdinand's limited menu shows the limited knowledge they have of Mexican food (plus real mexican rice is much better) I will disagree that only "Spanish" people can make good authentic spanish food. Those kids could be the whitest kids on earth but if they have the proper recipes to follow they could knock out some very "Authentic" mexican food. Seriously people, the only good restaurants in Escanaba are Stone House and Pocino's (on the right day its fantastic). With the other quality of food being served in this town; I would say they stick out like a sore thumb to the travesty that is Escanaba dining!
