User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsYummy Martinis: This is a great smoke-free bar in downtown Des Moines. The crowd runs mostly toward young professionals, and open-minded elders.
The Lift has great art on their walls, it is worth a visit to just go and look. The martini selection is also fabulous; I'd recommend the Blue 'Tini or the ChocoTini. Go on Wednesdays for half-price martinis.
Overall, the ambiance is good, if a bit cramped. Towards the later hours, the crowd can get a bit rowdy, but as straight bars go, it's to be expected.
